NEH Western States Project: Digital Modeling of Western State Constitutional Conventions by Undergraduates
Following publication of their model of the Utah State Constitution (1895), in January 2020, the Center for Constitutional Studies at Utah State University was awarded a prestigious Digital Advancement Grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in order to model three further Western state constitutional conventions in partnership with the Quill Project.
This funding from the NEH is major endorsement for the engaged learning approach adopted by the the Center for Constitutional Studies, and will allow them to significantly increase the student team working with Quill. It will also open the door for considerable improvements to the platform infrastructure and user interfaces.
Modeling work has begun in 2020 and models will be made public over the course of the next two to three years as they are completed and quality assurance work has been carried out.
